The Website Updates
General: June 2008:
We've taken the decision to reduce the size of the website for the summer.
Due to
all the other things going on in our lives, it has become a bit too time-consuming to maintain over 160 pages.
On top of
that, the size of the website in terms of Mb meant it was taking a lot longer to upload and again maintain.
Having analysed the
visitors to our site since Oct 2007, we've dropped a lot of pages and indeed the whole photo gallery section, saving 60Mb.
We've
also dropped all biking routes except the Cairngorms and local area ones. Some of the older ones in other areas of Scotland
were a bit vague anyway.
We sincerely apologise to the visitors, either direct visitors or from referring sites, that have made
use of these pages in the past.
The music pages are being rested for a while. These are the largest in terms of filesizes and
take quite a lot of maintenance. Tracks are still available on other sites.
About Us, Links and the Christian pages
will be redeveloped and added again, probably in the autumn.
We thank all our visitors and hope that you understand that there
are other things in life than running a website :-)
About the Website:
It has been in existance now since roughly the beginning
of February 2007. We have had lots of compliments on all the various aspects of our site, with visitors from all over the world,
especially for the Art and Biking pages. These get the most hits due to search engines. Many folks then visit the Music & Christian
sections etc.
One thing we're very pleased about is the number of Christian searches and visits that we get.
We're pleased
that so many are enjoying our site and hope you continue to send your email comments to us.
1. Art Gallery: Updated early
May 2008:
Due to all the other things going on in our lives at the moment, we've decided that all paintings will continue to be reserved
and sold via email.
We've had no problems with this method.
Plans for 2008 include Jan taking a photo off each of our bike rides
pages and painting it, so that it's a case of "done the ride, bought the painting"!
2. Music Studio: Updated June 2008:
Due to webspace and web maintenance time, we are
currently resting this section of the website.
3. Photo Gallery - Updated June 2008:
Due to webspace and web maintenance time,
we have taken the decision to remove this section. Thanks to everyone who has given us feedback on the photos.
4.Biking
Pages - Updated Aug 2008:
Due to webspace and web maintenance time, we have taken the decision to focus only on the rides
in and around the Cairngorms and surrounding areas. Some of the other routes were a bit vague and we didn't feel that we'd done
some of them justice. We apologise to all the frequent visitors that have used these pages in the past.
A few updates and some
new pictures added in August as we ventured into new territory.
5. Christian Pages: Updated June 2008:
Currently being redeveloped.
