We're Janice & Neil Buxton, currently living in Stoke on Trent, England.
Why this website - Tonal Effects? Well, we thought
we'd use it to share some aspects of our lives on an unsuspecting world! Plus tonal effects works well for both Janice's original
watercolour paintings and Neil's electronic music compositions. Created mainly to showcase & sell Janice's art, it
has been expanded to include Neil's music hobby, share our love of Scotland through our biking hobby and other things too.
We
sincerely hope you enjoy your visit and that God may bless you in your lives.
I work part time for the church that I worship at - St. Andrew's & St. Peter's in Weston Coyney, Stoke on Trent.
My hobby is watercolour
painting, including cards and bookmarks.
Paintings are sold regularly via galleries and other outlets, but key for me is to
keep it as a hobby and not be pressurised into it becoming a business, else the love and desire may fade.
Have a look at my
galleries on the website and hopefully you may want to buy one (or more!)
I also love biking, photography, gardening and lots of other
outdoor pursuits where I can enjoy and explore the beauty and wonder of God's creation.
I retired (very) early several years ago.
I worship at Newhall Christian Mission in Normacot, where I sometimes lead the services and
also the weekly housegroup/Bible study evenings.
My main indoor hobby is music and I have a small studio for working on my experimental
electronic compositions. I'm more of a composer than a musician and my main influences have always been Tangerine Dream.
My music can be broken down into 2 styles - quirky Christian and quirky non-Christian !!!!
The music pages have recently been
redeveloped so that you can inflict some music on your tender ears from the download pages!
Like Jan, I also love biking,
photography & gardening and we share the joint desire of moving to the Cairngorms in Scotland in the future.
